COX'S SHINE AT ABBEY PARK
The Cox Clan at Abbey Park Parkrun
Badgers are always normally hot when it comes to Parkrun, and on Saturday it was the father and daughter duo of Mark & Mia Cox, who made the journey to the East Midlands to take on Abbey Park Parkrun. The course is renowned for fast times given it's flat profile and ideal terrain, and Cox who has been and still is a major contributer to the men's team in Leicestershire Road Running League, came away with a fabulous new PB of 18:02. To put this into context Cox has clocked up over 100 Parkruns in his career, and this performance as a VET40 shows that he's breaking more barriers and continuing as strong as ever. There was a double celebration as up-and-coming rising star Mia Cox clocked a PB at the same course of 21:39, finishing in the top 30 and achieving 2nd overall female on the
day! The 14-year-old athlete, who predominantly this season has completed on the track for Nuneaton Harriers, shaved off over a minute from her last Parkrun PB set at Tamworth last December. A wonderful achievement for the youngster and a sign of much bigger things to come for sure.
