Each year, we come together at the end of the season to celebrate the year’s achievements. It’s a fantastic opportunity to look back on the past twelve months, recognise outstanding contributions, and enjoy a sociable evening with fellow club members.

We're excited to invite you to our end-of-season presentation evening to celebrate another fantastic year of running!
It's taking place later in the year on Friday 15th November, the presentation evening will take place at Baddesley Ensor Social Club, arrive from 7pm starting at 7:30pm.
Let's come together to crown our award winners and reflect on the club's achievements from the 2023/24 season. We can't wait to see you there!

To help you make informed choices, we've included brief descriptions and an idea on key criteria for each award category.
RUNNERS BADGER
A member who embodies the spirit and values of the club. They excel in their running, consistently demonstrate dedication and sportsmanship, and inspire others through their achievements.
Key criteria for selection might include:
Performance: Strong race results, personal bests, or consistent improvement.
Commitment: Regular attendance at training sessions and club events.
Team Spirit: Positive attitude, support for fellow members, and contributions to club life.
Achievements: Overcoming challenges, setting personal goals, or contributions to the club’s success.
NEWCOMER BADGER
Newcomer Badger of the Year is a standout new member who has made a positive impact on the club community. This individual embodies the spirit of the club and has quickly become a valued member.
Key criteria for selection might include:
Integration: How well the individual has fit into the club culture and made connections with other members.
Contribution: Involvement in club activities, races, or social events.
Enthusiasm: A positive and supportive attitude towards other members.
Achievements: Personal running goals achieved or contributions to the club's success.
BEGINNER BADGER
A Beginner Badger who is a shining example of dedication, progress, and enthusiasm. They embody the spirit of the programme by consistently attending sessions, overcoming challenges, and achieving personal goals.
Key criteria for selection might include:
Progress: Significant improvement in running ability and endurance.
Dedication: Consistent attendance and participation in training sessions.
Overcoming Challenges: Demonstrating resilience and determination.
Enthusiasm: Positive attitude and encouragement of fellow beginners.
RUNLEADER OF THE YEAR
A Run Leader of the Year is a standout individual who consistently goes above and beyond to inspire and support their running group. Their enthusiasm, knowledge, and dedication create a positive and motivating training environment.
Key criteria for selection might include:
Route Planning: Creating engaging and varied training sessions.
Motivation: Encouraging and inspiring runners to push their limits.
Knowledge: Demonstrating a strong understanding of running techniques and training principles.
Support: Providing individual attention and guidance to runners of all abilities.
Team Spirit: Fostering a positive and inclusive group atmosphere.
SPIRIT of the BADGER
The Spirit of the Badger award recognises an individual who exemplifies the core values of the club: friendliness, support, and inclusivity. This person is a beacon of positivity, always willing to lend a helping hand and create a welcoming atmosphere for runners of all abilities.
Key criteria for selection might include:
Community Building: Fostering a strong sense of belonging and camaraderie within the club.
Support: Offering encouragement and assistance to fellow members.
Inclusivity: Welcoming and supporting runners of all backgrounds and abilities.
Volunteerism: Contributing to the club's success through volunteer efforts.
BADGER ROLE MODEL
Is a club member who inspires and motivates others through their actions and attitude. They exemplify the best qualities of a Badger and set a positive example for the entire club to follow.
Key criteria for selection might include:
Inspiration: Motivating others to achieve their running goals.
Dedication: Demonstrating unwavering commitment to the club and running.
Leadership: Leading by example and supporting fellow members.
Sportsmanship: Exhibiting fair play and respect for others.
Community Involvement: Actively contributing to the club and local running community.
SUPPORTER OF THE YEAR
The Supporter of the Year is an exceptional individual who embodies the spirit and values of our running club. They are a passionate advocate for the BADGER family, consistently going above and beyond to support our members and contribute to the club's success. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and positive impact are evident in all they do.
Key criteria for selection might include:
Involvement: Active at club activities and events, such as volunteering, attending social gatherings, and supporting at races.
Contribution: Fostering a positive atmosphere and inclusive environment within the club's community.
Impact: Enhanced the club’s reputation and standing through their actions and words.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR
The Outstanding Performance of the Season award recognises an exceptional race or run by a club member during the year. This achievement showcases extraordinary athleticism, determination, or sportsmanship.
Key criteria for selection might include:
Exceptional performance: Achieving a personal best or a significant improvement on their previous performances.
Competitive level: The race’s level of competition and prestige.
Overcoming challenges: Demonstrating resilience and determination to achieve the result.
Sportsmanship: Adhering to the club’s values.
MILE MASTER & MISTRESS
This is for the members that have accumulated the most miles in the 2023/24 season (01st Sept 2023 – 31st August 2024)
If you believe you are in with a chance of this please get in touch with Danny Warren via email (badgersbaddesley@gmail.com) with your approximate total mileage. If we have a few members close to each other's totals, proof in the form of GPS data and or race results will need to be provided.
Top Tip:
Set up a "Goal" in Garmin Connect. (this can only be done on the website not the app)
> Go to goals
> Create a new goal.
Activity Type: Running
Target: Any distance will work! (It doesn't matter if you go over or don't meet it.)
Duration: 1 Year
Start Date: 01/09/2024
Once we pass the 1st September 2025, it will show up in your "Past Goals". This will then show you how many miles you completed in the 12 months from 01st Sept 2024 – 31st August 2025!
Note: you need to have set this up before 1st September 2025, for it to work.
