2025 PARKRUN LEGENDS ARE MADE

The period between Christmas and New Year is often bereft of racing activity but awash with parkruns, and on December 27th, Andy Smith and his wife Holly managed the amazing feat of having run 55 parkruns in a calendar year, the maximum amount possible given the odd special occasions granted by parkrun HQ. They notched up run number 55 at the salubrious Dunstable Downs event to reach the incredible milestone. In addition to rocking up to various places each Saturday morning, often with Anne-Marie Matthews in tow as she reached a magnificent total of 50 for the year, the duo have also been present at Riversley Park junior parkrun at Nuneaton more times than they care to remember, an event established by them a couple of years ago.

Carl Ford can boast one of the most incredible success stories of 2025, bringing his parkrun best time down to 25:31 at Tamworth Castle, an unbelievable 8-minute improvement from the start of the year. There were top ten finishes for Joanne Crow at Barmouth, Matt Green and Janey Barrett at Kingsbury Water Park, Rachael Browne at Babbs Mill and Kat Wilson at Bedworth. 

In the only race of the period, Danny Warren made his annual pilgrimage to the rapid Wheaton Aston 10K, returning with a superb 14th place and a course best time of 35:00
