SUPER 17 FOR COX AT LONG EATON

Mark Cox has been in fine form as of late,  and the Tenacious Badgers Talisman grabbed another PB at the Weekend at  Long Eaton Parkrun in Derbyshire. The course is known for its flat and fast profile,  and Cox stormed to an almighty time of  17:02 to come 2nd Overall. He's been key over the years in helping the team achieve victories on the road and XC, and this monumental result shows there's still plenty more to come from him this season.  His predominant training has been a bold reflection on his recent successes, a quite superb achievement. His daughter Mia  Cox was also in action at Long Eaton, and she clocked a rapid 21:44, only 15 seconds off her all-time best. 

There was further success over at Holbrooks Parkrun, where Adrian Payne ran 18:10 to post his fastest parkrun in 2 years and claim 1st Place overall. David Craig ran 24:34 for a strong showing, earning him a place in the top 40. Maggi Savin-Baden also featured and ran a very impressive  29:20.  Over at Bedworth Parkrun, we had one lone  Badger as Ebony Fennell ran a course best of 26:45.  

The Ashs were in action at Woodlands Parkrun in Scarborough; talented youngster Dan Ash ran 22:26 to grab a top-50 position, brother Tom Ash ran 26:46 to clock another solid time, and David Ash ran 40:28 to complete the family outing.  Over in the Beautiful Wales at Teifi Nature  Parkrun, Janey Barrett ran 25:05 to grab a place in the top 50.  

It was a birthday celebration for Member  Christine Morris over at Babbs Mill Parkrun in Solihull, as plenty of the club turned out in support. Bill Gutheridge was first back in  23:10, good enough to earn him a top 20  position. Colin Lees & Matt Bradford came in next in 24:52 & 25:00 respectively. Suzy Farrell ran solidly, and she was next home in 25:53, coming 3rd lady back overall on the day. Alice Belcher ran well to come back in 32:17, and Susie  Stringer, who's closely preparing for the  Great North Run in September, ran 35:09.  Birthday Girl Christine Morris came home in 36:05. Sara Hawkins came in 39:28, whilst finally Sarah Kilburn and Claire Bradford ran  41:35 & 49:44 respectively to conclude.  

At Tamworth Castle Grounds Parkrun,  Marathon Man Mark Repton was first back for the club in 20:45, earning him a top 30  place. His brother Wayne Repton came in next in 23:35, whilst Adrian Parkes ran a  solid 24:22. Rachael Browne ran 26:14; following closely was Jim Cottom in 26:37.  

Connor Altoft is a new name to the club, and at Kingsbury Parkrun the youngster ran a superb PB of  24:18, alongside his dad Andy Altoft. Dave Jenkinson ran a 24:24. The popular Badger man made a huge contribution in pacing Jake Altoft to a PB  in 24:23 time. Jill Miller came in next in 26:17; meanwhile, Leon Millership & Mark  Reynolds both ran 26:57. Anne Marie  Matthews ran a superb 29:29.
