YOUNG STARKEY LIGHTS UP KINGSBURY

As is tradition on a Saturday, Badgers were hard at it at various Parkruns around the land, and we had the pleasure of seeing one of our Juniors run an absolutely scintillating time. At just 7 years old, Ryan Starkey ran an incredible 23:54, not only bagging himself a place in the top 30 but also a shiny new PB. Quite an incredible show of form for the youngster who is one of many Badgers coming through its ranks. The club has a strong pedigree of wanting to bring through and encourage the next generation, and results like this show that the future is bright for the club and for Starkey himself, a sign of more amazing things to come. Such is his commitment that he also completed a junior parkrun in 8:52 on Sunday, placing 7th at Tamworth. A wonderful achievement for the youngster, who we will see much more of for sure in the coming years. 

Continuing our round-up at Kingsbury, where Matt Green was first back in a solid time of 22:59, Adrian Payne was a click behind in 23:00. Proud father of Ryan, Sam Starkey was next back in 23:55, while Mark Reynolds came home in 26:50, whilst Janey Barrett came back next in 28:36. Dave Jenkinson was the final one back in 31:28. 

Over at Tamworth Parkrun, we had a few Badgers taking on the twisty course. Mark Repton was the first Badger home in 21:05 to earn him a place in the top 20. Young talent Dan Ash ran very well to run 21:40, only 20 seconds off his PB. Wayne Repton was next home in 23:51, while Bill Gutheridge was a click behind in 23:52. Thomas Ash bagged himself a New PB to run 25:35 in magnificent style. Leon Millership came in next in 26:48, Paul Restall ran 30:23, while David Ash came in next in 32:55. Rhys Hopwood was the final Badger back in 35:45. 

Over at Bittesby Parkrun in Harborough, we had our two team captains in action, both coming in the top 30. Glyn Broadhurst ran a solid 22:10, while Megan Griffiths continued her impressive season by running 22:11, coming through as first lady back on the day. 

Over at Babbs Mill Parkrun, we had Mia Cox in action. Mia is another one of our incredible juniors whose rise speaks for itself, setting multiple PBs over the course of the year on the track, and here she ran wonderfully to finish in the top 20 with a time of 22:36. Mark Cox finished in 50:00 to round it off here. Bedworth Parkrun, Kat Wilson ran 24:31 to earn a top 40 place. Over at University of Northampton Parkrun, Club Treasurer Andy Altoft ran solidly in 23:30 to come in the top 30. Anne Marie Matthews completed her 350th Parkrun and ran 31:48. 

Over at the Kenilworth 5k, Yvonne Faulkner-Grant was in action to set a course PB and her fastest time this year in 25:47, and she wasn't the only Badger in action over a 5k at the weekend, as Dave Purvis did the Run to Wharf 5k in 21:48. 

The Henley-On-Thames 10k features some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, and we had the trio of Sharon Jackson, Alice Belcher, and ever-popular comedian Jill Miller take on the route, supporting a new member of the club, and all came in with a time of 65 Minutes.
